Neuraluma Technologies ("we", "us", "our") operates the NeuraLuma mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

We collect the following personal information when you register and use the App:
- Phone Number — Used for OTP-based authentication and account identification.
- Name — Used to personalize your experience within the App.
- Email Address — Optional. Used for account recovery and communications.
- College Name — Optional. Used for profile information.
- Pass-out Year — Optional. Used for profile information.
- Gender — Used to personalize your profile avatar.
We also automatically collect usage data, including:
- Questions answered, time spent per question, and accuracy metrics.
- Bookmarked questions and study activity patterns.
- Confidence levels selected for each answer (Sure/Guessed).
- Device information and app version for debugging purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your identity and maintain your account.
- To provide personalized study analytics, progress tracking, and performance insights.
- To calculate study streaks, daily targets, and syllabus coverage.
- To send push notifications related to your study progress (if enabled).
- To process subscription payments and manage your subscription status.
- To improve the App and develop new features.
- To respond to your feedback, bug reports, and feature requests.
4. Payment Information
All payment transactions are processed through Razorpay, a PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. We do not store, collect, or have access to your credit/debit card details or banking information.
We only store your subscription status and expiry date to manage access to premium features.

5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud Platform servers located in Asia (asia-south1 region, India). We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted database connections (SSL/TLS).
- JWT-based authentication with secure token storage on your device.
- Server-side input validation and sanitization.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Razorpay — Payment processing for subscriptions.
- MSG91 — OTP delivery via SMS for authentication.
- Google Cloud Platform — Application hosting, database, and storage.
- Expo / React Native — App development framework.
These services may collect information as described in their respective privacy policies.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With payment processors (Razorpay) to process transactions.
- With SMS service providers (MSG91) to deliver OTPs.
- If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Neuraluma Technologies, our users, or others.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@neuraluma.app.
Upon receiving a deletion request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for medical students and professionals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Opt out of push notifications via the App settings.
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
